Digital Detox Mahotsav 2025

There is a strong connection between excessive screen usage and mental health challenges. Recent global research highlights that overuse of digital devices, particularly social media, is linked to rising levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.Recognizing the urgency of this issue, Chetana Empowerment Foundation (CEF), which has been working consistently on digital wellness for the past seven years, organized the Digital Detox Mahotsav  a National Level Competition. 

This unique initiative invited students from Grade 3 to Graduation to showcase their creativity and perspectives on digital wellness through skit plays and poster presentations. The competition aimed not only to raise awareness but also to transform this vital message into a nationwide movement.

Aim of the competition

Aligned with the vision of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes mental health, responsible technology use, and digital wellness, the Digital Detox Mahotsav seeks to:

  1. Reach wider sections of society in a short time. Create awareness across all segments of the community.
  2. Inspire young people to contribute actively towards nation-building by adopting healthier digital habits.
  3. To raise awareness about Healthier & Mindful screen usage.
  4. To engage students in meaningful dialogue and creative expression on digital wellness to create impact on society at large scale.
  5.  Sensitizing students to develop healthier relationships with technology.
  6. To understand the importance of balancing online and offline life through creative and participatory activities.
  • To complement the competition, sensitization and counselling programs were also conducted at the Happy Village campus, offering transformative experiences for children, youth, and parents.
  • The response was overwhelming – the competition received 255+ entries from across India, representing 10+ states and 87+ districts, with participation from 900+ students. Contributions poured in from Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Goa, and more, reflecting the national resonance of the cause
  • The Grand Finale of the competition was held on 14th September at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The second round of the Skit Play and Poster Presentation took place in the morning, where the shortlisted students showcased their talent.
  • During the Grand Finale, the selected students performed their skits and were honored with awards presented by the renowned actress Dr. Nishigandha Wad. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with an audience of around 1000+ people present at the venue, making it a truly memorable occasion.
  • As part of the finale, an expert talk show was also organized, where one of India’s most renowned psychologists, Dr. Chinu Agrawal, interacted with the audience and shared valuable insights on mental well-being. The event was gracefully hosted by Chetana’s Psychologist Mitali Lathi, adding charm and energy to the evening.
