CHETANA’s 9th CHILD CAMP and 3rd WINTER CHILD CAMP was successfully conducted for 3 days on 24th, 25th & 26th December with much enthusiasm which included 110 children.
Children were divided into 2 groups.
- 8 – 11 years
- 12 – 15 years
Interaction on various topics was done like Awakening the superhero within taken by CA. Vivek Randad, What story I tell my Mind My Role, How to use smartphone smartly taken by Mitali Lathi, My Responsibility My role in my Bharat @100 taken by Akash Fulzalke and How to Use Technology Wisely was explained under DIGITAL WELLNESS.
Practical knowledge and facts about Astronomy & Stargazing by Prof. Sudarshan Loya were given to the children under the Wonders of Science session. Science of Meditation taken by Gayatri Randad where children were taught about concentration, how to be focused, and the importance of practicing in daily life.
Along with all these, Aerobics and zoomba refreshed and rebooted minds of children, Adventure activities like rappelling, V crossing helped children to overcome their fear, Self Defence Techniques taken by our volunteer Pooja Baheti and her team taught them how to deal with the critical situation and be ever ready to face/save themselves from any dangerous situation. Children creatively involved in Art and Craft as well as Mud activity. Children enjoyed storytelling session taken by our volunteers Sanli Pradhan and Bhumi Goyanka where they learned the value of morals. Siddhi Golande, Priya Malani and Krushna Lathi our volunteers took traditional and blessing games which made children enjoy a lot and know importance of playing outside, co-operation, coordination and delay gratification.
13-year-old Atharv said, “I never thought about out Bharat but now I am cleared about it in my mind that we are part of Bharat and need to do something for that, I have started thinking about development of Bharat and my role @100 too.” And 14-year-old Parth said, “This camp made me understand that everyone is having power to do something in their life, we have to just canalize it and give a proper direction to those things.”
Feedbacks from parents as well as kids filled us with enthusiasm. Few parents said that the Parenting session was an “eye-opener” for them.Many aspects of positive parenting were discussed by Mitali Lathi(Psychiatrist). The Working system and activities of CHETANA were also explained to the parents.
Everybody acknowledged their experience of Positive Vibes in HAPPY VILLAGE. With the support of 48 volunteers CEF team members, well-wishers, even in the time of Pandemic the camp was successfully conducted.
